In a landmark agreement, the UAE Cyber Security Council and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have joined forces to enhance global cybersecurity capacity. With more than 3 billion people worldwide lacking access to the internet and information and communication technologies (ICT), it is crucial to provide both secure and affordable access. In line with this vision, the UAE Cyber Security Council, under the leadership of Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, has entered into a strategic collaboration with the ITU, a specialized United Nations (UN) agency for ICT. The aim is to empower countries by developing their cybersecurity capabilities, thereby enhancing their ability to defend against cyber threats.

As part of this collaboration, the UAE and the ITU will organize joint international cyber exercises designed to simulate cyberattacks on vital infrastructure.
