Cybercrime is a global scourge affecting all nations, including Ivory Coast. In 2023, the country witnessed a 20% increase in cyberattacks, with significant economic and social consequences.
To combat this growing threat, the Ivorian government adopted a National Cybersecurity Strategy (2021-2025) in 2021. Among its aims is the crucial task of strengthening the nation’s cybersecurity workforce.
The ESATIC Cybersecurity Innovation Center
Part of this strategy’s implementation led to the opening of the Cybersecurity Innovation Center (CIC) within the École Supérieure Africaine des Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication (ESATIC) in Abidjan. Launched on April 13, 2023, the CIC’s mission is to train cybersecurity experts and develop innovative solutions to fight cybercrime.
